Ruefa is committed to comprehensive sustainability measures. At the heart of this commitment is an extensive training program “Climate Ranger” for Ruefa employees, equipping them to provide expert advice on customized, sustainable travel solutions. In addition, Ruefa implements waste reduction concepts in its branches and embraces re- and upcycling ideas for renovations and new designs. At the Eurotours location in Kitzbühel, recycling, energy, and water-saving measures are standard practice. A photovoltaic system with 240 modules covers up to 40% of the electricity demand, with surplus energy fed back into the power grid. The building is heated by heat pumps, and waste separation stations on every floor ensure efficient waste management. Employees benefit from e-charging stations, while an e-bike charging station and a bicycle storage room promote eco-friendly mobility. Additionally, the lighting system is continuously being upgraded to energy-efficient LED technology.
Hotels
At HOSPITALITY locations, sustainability and circular economy principles are implemented in key focus areas. These include energy-saving measures, sourcing regional products, and obtaining the Austrian Ecolabel, which all locations aim to achieve by 2028. Café Central has been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel and is committed to sustainable quality. Its menu focuses on regional and organic products, offering a diverse selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes that combine indulgence with environmental consciousness.
Camping
In 2025, our campgrounds will be certified with the Austrian Ecolabel. Recycling stations throughout the site encourage campers to actively participate in waste separation. For efficient and emission-free support, our staff use electric utility vehicles for maintenance and guest services.
